About GamblingHelp.ie

GamblingHelp.ie is an independent Irish information resource on gambling harm. We publish plain-English guides, maintain a non-endorsing directory of support services, and summarise public-domain research so people affected by gambling — directly or through someone close to them — can find their way to the right help.

What we do

  • Plain-English guides on signs of gambling harm, recovery, family support and debt.
  • A national, county-aware directory of free and low-cost support services.
  • Practical tools — a private self-check, a financial navigator and printable resources.
  • Statistics and research signposting for journalists, charities and researchers.

What we do not do

  • We are not a treatment provider, regulator or operator.
  • We do not accept advertising from the gambling industry.
  • We do not sell user data, run paid placements, or take fees for service listings.
  • We are not affiliated with the HSE or the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland.

How we stay independent

Independence is the point. We do not take money from gambling operators. Service inclusion in our directory is governed by a published inclusion policy and is free.

Editorial standards

All long-form guides are reviewed against our published editorial policy and methodology. Each article carries a "last reviewed" date.
