About GamblingHelp.ie

GamblingHelp.ie is an independent Irish information resource on gambling harm. We summarise public-domain research, maintain a non-endorsing directory of support services, and publish plain-English guides for people affected by gambling — directly or through someone close to them.

We are not a treatment provider. We are not a regulator. We do not run gambling operations and we do not accept advertising from the gambling industry. We are not affiliated with the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland.

Spokesperson information

We can usually offer on-record context comment on gambling harm, support pathways, debt and family impact in Ireland. We do not comment on individual operators, ongoing legal cases, or matters within the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland's regulatory remit.

For live broadcast bookings we ask for as much notice as possible. We can also help connect journalists with established Irish support providers (Gambling Care, Extern, Gam-Anon) where lived-experience voices are needed.

Reporting guidance

Coverage of gambling harm benefits from the same responsible-reporting principles used for suicide and addiction reporting: avoid detailed loss totals presented as spectacle, include support information at the end of every piece, and treat lived-experience contributors with care. The Samaritans Ireland Media Guidelines and HSE guidance on addiction reporting are useful starting points.
